Early Life

Aaron Charles Rodgers was born in Chico, California, as the second of three sons to Ed and Darla Rodgers. From a very young age, he displayed a remarkable understanding of football. At age 2, he could watch an NFL game and recognize formations. By age 5, he was already throwing a football through a hanging tire.

Rodgers also excelled in baseball during his youth. He played for Raleigh Hills Little League in Beaverton, Oregon, and set school passing records at Pleasant Valley High School in California. Despite his talent, he struggled to gain Division I college offers.


College Career

Rodgers enrolled at Butte College, a junior college in Oroville, California, in 2002. In his one season there, he led the team to a 10-1 record and earned conference MVP honors. His performance attracted attention from the University of California, Berkeley, where he transferred the following year.

At Berkeley, Rodgers broke multiple school records and became a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2004. He chose to forgo his final college season and declared for the 2005 NFL Draft, where the Green Bay Packers selected him as the 24th overall pick in the first round.
