Early Life

Born Joseph Rooks in Paddington, London, Cole moved to Somers Town at age six. He progressed through West Ham United’s youth system, showcasing early talent reminiscent of England legend Paul Gascoigne. Cole was part of West Ham’s victorious FA Youth Cup squad in 1999 and made his professional debut shortly afterward.

Club Career

Cole debuted for West Ham at 17 in an FA Cup tie against Swansea City and soon made his Premier League debut against Manchester United. He quickly became a vital member of the squad, eventually captaining the team at just 21.

Chelsea
